Welcome to the Northern California Airstream Club (WBCCI). The NorCal Airstream Club is a group of people who own Airstreams, love to travel and have fun. Most of our members are from Northern California, including San Joaquin, the North Coast, Sierras, Sacramento Valley and San Francisco Bay area.
NorCal is large enough to support a great program of rallies and caravans, yet small enough that members easily establish life-long friendships. We tend to be retired or near retirement, although we have seen a recent increase in new members in mid-career. This group has diverse interests including ham radio, fishing, bicycling, quilting, art and history. An underlying theme is the Airstream lifestyle so there is regular chatter about trailer ambiance, maintenance, repair and towing skills. We host a minimum of eight unit rallies a year, mostly in Northern and Central California with an occasional foray into Nevada. Read more…
The November rally was held at the Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort. The setting was beautiful and the weather was acccomodating. We visited Mutari Craft Chocolates. We learned and we sampled. Very nice.
We sampled wine at Kissed by an Angel Wines. They have a heart-warming mission in addition to producing wine.
We toured Wilder Ranch State Park. It’s 7000 acres represent early California ranching.
We had a sing-along with a local ukulele artist. Our own musicians joined in the “jam session”.
Our October rally was held among the pines at the Nevada County Fairground RV Park. The group was small but committed to fun, food and fellowship.
The Region 12 Rally was also held in October. The Bakersfield RV Resort hosted the rally.
The September rally was held in Clio at the Clio River’s Edge RV Park. The weather was cool and the friends were cooler. Our major activity was a visit to the Brewing Lair in Blairsden. We brought our lunches and sampled the local brew under the pines. All in all a great get away.
The August rally was held in Olema at the Olema Campground. My wife and I could not attend but I hear that a good time was had by all. Activities included a visit to the Cowgirl Creamery.
And enjoying friends.
We had no rally in July. It was a quiet month for many Airstsreamers. However some made the trip to the International Rally in Virginia. I hope to hear more about it.
Our June rally was at Meadowcliff Coleville-Walker KOA. The setting was beautiful. This area is the home of some amazing trout fishing. Unfortunately, due to rapid show melt, the Walker river was running fast and muddy.
We did do an excursion To Bodie State Park, definitely worth the trip.
We dined at the famous JT Basque restaurant in Gardnerville. Food was served family style and was delicious.
There will no rally in July. We are all looking forward to August.
Website Note: I was reaching the end of the allotted memory for this website so I had to make some changes. You may or may not have accessed the webpages that I have archived. They are now available in PDF format on the LINKS page. May rally highlights to follow…
Airstreamers enjoyed the rally at Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne this month. The RV park is fairly new. We tasted cider and picnicked at Indigeny Reserve. Otherwise, you already know: fun, food and friendship. Check out the upcoming Poppy for more pictures.
We were not in attendance at the Pismo Beach rally. However we have stayed at the Pismo Coast Village-a nice place to enjoy the south coast. I hear that a great time was had by all.
For pictures and a write up of the rally check out the May edition of the Poppy.
The March rally (actually at the end of February) was held at Yanks RV Resort in Greenfield. This was our first rally since early December and it was good to enjoy the company of old friends. One of the highlights of the rally was a visit to The Monterey Zoo in Salinas. I am not a “zoo-lover” but this experience was different. i encourage you to check out the website.
Look for more details in the next Poppy.
The new Airstream year has begun. I have included six reasons why you should sign up for a caravan. The next edition of the Poppy will have the details of the winter All-Terrain Caravan.
Thanks to Bob E. for the pictures
